I have lived in the Kansas City, Missouri area since graduating from Bob Jones University in 1996 where I studied Commercial Art, Interpretive Speech, and Spanish. I completed my master's degree here in 2001 and have been teaching high school for over thirteen years. My creative skills are inherited from my dad who has been in the home construction business for nearly thirty years, and my maternal grandmother who drew bulletin boards for her pre-kindergarten classrooms for longer than I can remember.
First and foremost I am a follower of Jesus Christ, then a husband, and then a father. Somewhere amidst those joyful responsibilities I find time to do some freelance photography.
My pictures are a reflection of who I am. I am a "details" guy, so I tend to see beauty in what some may consider to be mundane. I love to make "much of little" with my work. My style is photojournalistic and illustrative...never posed, and certainly "cheese free". Take a look at my galleries and see what you think!
Photography is one of my passions; I specialize in family and child portraiture, weddings, seniors, and newborns.
My Nikons are almost always with me. My favorite lenses are my 50mm primes: 1.8 and 1.4, although I make much use of my 80-200mm/2.8 especially in low light. Although I love natural light, I am fully equipped to use flash when necessary. I prefer location photography, but have a traveling studio with backdrops that can come to you! I am a Photoshop geek and love working digital magic on my pictures.
I see my work as a reflection of not just myself, but of my Savior and am so excited to see how photos that I take can glorify Him by displaying the beauty of His creation in a real and uncompromising way.
Take some time and review my work. I think you will find that my quality of service and prices cannot be beat. I hope to hear from you soon.
